Shift, Alt and CTRL keys

From what I have read I assume the Shift, Alt and CTRL keys do not work with other keys, right. Like pressing ALT-X to close an app. If so will this be fixed in the future??

Some keyboard shortcuts are blocked by the OS for security reasons. We are working to make the server work around any security limitations of the OS, but this is going to take some time.
