I'm having a lag issue with the pad mouse app. It was working fine the day I bought it, but the next day every 5 secs it stutters. I have tried changing computers, networks, and wifi channels. My last thing I'm going to do is try reinstalling the app so if there is any ideas that could fix this that would be awesome.

The first thing to try is to disable IPv6 on your Mac, this has shown to resolve network lag with a lot of users, especially when using Airport Extreme. To do this, go to System Prefs->Network, then click on the adapter you are using and press the Advanced button. Under "Configure IPv6", set this to Off.

Try turning off Bluetooth on iPad.

I just bought the Pad Mouse iPad software and it was lagging so bad it was unusable. I thought it was my WIFI network then I randomly tried turning off Bluetooth on the iPad and lag disappeared. It is perfect! No lag at all! Hope this helps and resolves your issue.

Thanks for reporting this, we will investigate whether it is a problem with the OS or our app and issue an update shortly if the problem is on our side

I apologize for the delay in our update. Apple has suddenly claimed ownership over the word "Pad" and we had to redo our app. It should be available shortly.

I am also seeing some issues with lag.

My setup - Mac mini (late '09) connected to Wifi N router positioned in same room, IPv6 disabled.
Ipad - Connected to same router, bluetooth disabled

The mouse movement is almost ok, but there is a noticeable delay between touching the ipad and seeing the mouse move.

If I connect over VNC with Jump desktop, I get a really smooth mouse movement with no delay, even though it uses a lot more bandwidth. It's a shame Mobilemouse cannot work without lag.

Is there anything I can do?

The above should work 100% as when I had the same problem I read this thread and everythings working great...

Like I said in my post, IPv6 is already disabled.

The real issue is the delay when first moving the mouse, once it's moving it's quite smooth. This makes it really irritating to use though.

We don't introduce any delay, the movement is sent as soon as you touch the screen. However, depending on your router and how far you are from it, we have seen some that seem to buffer the data, so there is an initial delay while enough data is being queued up to send. We have no control over this, it's something your router may or may not be doing. What kind of router are you using and how far are you from it? Also, did you play around with the Frequency setting? This changes the sampling rate of the touch pad.

I have a Thomson TG587n wireless router, it's about 20cm from the Mac, and about 3m from the iPad

It doesn't explain why VNC is perfectly smooth without lag though

We could show you, but what would that really help? The app wouldn't be selling if everyone was having the problem, so it's clearly not widespread, and if it were happening for us we would have already fixed it. The important thing is to figure out why it's happening for you and get it working properly. First off, have you tried the iPhone app to see if it has the same issue? Could any of you post a video showing the problem, so we can make sure that we are trying to reproduce it the same way?

That juddadredd bloke posts videos of things working can't you do the same to show us it working fine on your pc?

Right you guys know me I always speak the truth for good or ill, theres lag very noticable lag but ONLY in the Mac Server...

I use the app by placing my finger on the ipad before I move it, I got used to using the app like this so didn't notice it until it was pointed out in the post and examined the situation...
if you put your finger straight on the pad and move your finger then it buffers the movement and thats where the lag is... but if your fingers already on there then theres no lag...

If anyone wants me to post a video to show the difference then let me know, and yes the laptop and mac are an equal distance from the router... that will be my final parting gift...
