Okay so I tried to connect over and over but I keep getting the same message as that one guy said on another thread (You guys didn't respond much so I thought I'd make my own)
"Unable to connect. Please make sure that the server is running and that you do not have a firewall blocking incoming traffic on your computer or network"
Same with him, I turned off my firewall and I am running Mac OS X Snow Leopard Version 10.6.4 and I still keep getting the same message.
On the settings on my iPhone 4 (4.1) on the Mouse App, I see my computer as one of the servers but I can't seem to connect to it because it just gives me that one message about how I need to check my network.
I certainly am connected to the same network and I even tried it the Ad hoc way and that didn't work either. I tried different IPs and I used the 9099 port and 51010 and still nothing.
Help Dx

If you can see your server but can't connect, that means that outbound traffic is flowing just fine but inbound traffic isn't being received. This almost always means that something is blocking incoming traffic, most likely a firewall. Please double check that nothing is blocking on your computer or router. If you can't find anything, then try setting up an ad hoc network, which will tell you if the computer or network is blocking.

I'm also having the exact same issue. I tried everything you did as well as the ad hoc network that the admin suggested, and still nothing. Here's what I found to work: connecting through the internet instead of my LAN. On my router, I forwarded the port I'm using to the machine I want to use the app with. Then I plugged in my external IP address into the app. It was able to connect. Unfortunately, whenever my external IP address changes, I'll have to change it in the app. Also unfortunately, the server address field in the app does not accept a domain name. I've set up a dynamic dns domain name to point to my home network which I could have uses that to get around the changing IP address problem. I use this to VNC into my machine when I'm not home.

Anyway, I probably won't use this solution as I don't want to have the vulnerability associated with keeping that port open to the internet, but I wanted to let you know what I was able to do. Please let me know if any of you (including you, Mobile Mouse Pro folks!) find a more elegant way to solve this. Earlier versions of this app used to work great and I loved it. I hadn't used it in a while and I'm not sure what happened/changed with the recent version(s) to cause this not to work, but it bums me out.

I can't think of any reason why you'd be able to connect over the internet but not over your local network, other than Bonjour not working. Did you try to enter your local IP manually into the app to see if it would connect that way?

Hi

I went into "firewall > virtual servers" on my Belkin router and enabled a virtual server with these settings:

Description: test :-)
Inbound port: 5055
Type: TCP
Private IP: 192.168.1.36 (my mac IP address)
Private port: 5055

Clicked save and the router restarted. Started the mobile air mouse server on my mac and set the port number to 5055 (The IP was already there)

In the app on iPhone I set the IP to my mac manually aswell as the port 5055. It worked.

So lovely Devs it appears that its just more then me who's now commenting on the lack of DOCUMENTATION on trouble solving, and you guys really do need a FLOW CHART to show how to fix things... I've only been saying it for 3 months and you just dance around the situation... If you have at least the flow chart it might stop about 25% of this type of support request...

OK, after a long time struggling with the same problem I finally found the answer. These are the steps to get it working:
Open "System Preferences" go to "Universal Access", the last tab is "Mouse & Trackpad" On the bottom click on "Enable access for assistive devices" and viola. It should connect just fine over wifi.

Can you describe your exact problem? 'Enable access for assistive devices' shouldn't have anything to do with connection problems, it's mainly used to allow Applescript to interface with other programs.

I tried that on my mac but it didn't work

Same deal -- cannot connect, and I have selected the "assistive devices" box in System Preferences. Cannot connect the iPad app, despite following the instructions under troubleshooting.

Config: iMac Intel 2.66 run Mac OS 10.6.6

I'm having the same problem...and I believe I've tried every solution others have tried. Bluetooth is off, my iPhone recognizes my computer, but my iPhone 3GS (v4.3.3) doesn't connect to my PowerBook G4 (1.25Ghz), running Mac OS 10.5.8, with the Firewall set to "allow all incoming connections." I don't believe it's my router as my Mac recognizes my iPhone.

Please let me know as I'd really like to rate the MobileMouse app well in the AppStore.
