Perhaps this has been brought up before, or maybe I just use my ipod touch the wrong way when using it with one hand but swapping where the keyboard and touchpad/mouse buttons are seems like a very simple thing. The reason I say this is because when using the device with one hand I default to having my thumb click all the buttons, and the ability to type would be greatly enhanced if the thumb didn't have to curl downwards to type from moving the mouse or clicking buttons, you have to pause for that half a second when typing buttons on the right of the keyboard such as p,l, and m.

Just can idea.

Matt,
sound like you agree with some of what I had to say in this post.

Thanks for your feedback. The reason the touchpad is at the top is because we want to have the split screen with the keyboard, and we are unable to control the position of the keyboard. For consistency, we have all the other remote and keyboard screens take the same place as the keyboard, otherwise it would be odd to have the trackpad moving around.

In keyboard mode I'm more likely to use AirMouse in horizontal orientation. In the Media mode a vertical orientation works best. I do think a consistency across modes for positioning of elements is a good design practice. Is there a chance of hiding the trackpad in Media mode and then using a vertical shake to bring it out when needed? I do see how you've very nicely improved on the normal arrow up and down function with the trackpad in Media mode. Ergonomically though its hard to work the most frequently used buttons (volume up, down and mute as well as channels) when they're placed at the bottom.
